Food For The Ears Society’s mission is to organize community engagement concerts highlighting local musicians and artists, culminating in a multi-day festival called the Food For The Ears Festival. Additionally, we encourage youth engagement, ensuring that many of our events are all-ages. Our purpose is to bring the community together through the power of music and art, while raising awareness of food insecurity and vital resources to combat hunger.
Food For The Ears originated as a Truro-local food bank fundraising initiative in 2023, and was organized by then 16 year old Ethan Chitty. We've expanded and now feature musical acts from across the province participating for the benefit of all of Nova Scotia on a grander scale by benefiting Feed NS!
In 2023, Food For The Ears was planned in only two months, and raised ~$2300.
In 2024, Food For The Ears was slightly expanded, and raised ~$3000.
In 2025, we officially registered as a nonprofit society, under the name Food For The Ears Society. We raised $3500 for Feed Nova Scotia.
In 2026, we will be building our biggest show yet! We are also adding an Appetizer Series featuring small venue shows across the province. We hope to raise >$8000.
